What is New Media?

This major works with sound, video, code, and interactive media. Students learn to create performances, exhibits, and client-driven projects in the public space. In our program, you'll learn how emerging technologies produce sensations. With this knowledge, you can discover the most effective ways to communicate with technology. Students will consider historic and contemporary art and design. Projects in your lab-based classes will teach you analytical and technical skills. In conceptual courses, you'll take a step back and study the implications of art and the modern world. Students must submit a portfolio before being accepted into this program.
