New Media

What is New Media?

As a New Media student, you’ll work with sound, video, code, interactive media, and web-based tools to create performances, exhibitions, client-driven applications, and projects in public space. You’ll look critically at emerging technologies to understand how they produce sensations and facilitate communication and pinpoint the most effective ones. With a number of lab-based classes, your projects will teach you how to critique and analyze, practice technical skills, and understand historic and contemporary art and design. In addition, our more conceptual classes will ask you to look beyond the subject and study the implications and connections of art and the modern world. You must submit a portfolio before being accepted into this program.
