Global Studies

What is Global Studies?

As an interdisciplinary major, Global Studies allows you to create an individualized plan of study to best suit your interests in specific global themes such as environmental change, wealth and poverty, human rights, and global health. With a guiding focus on contemporary global issues, your coursework will explore diverse cultures and their social and economic interactions and impacts. You’ll also have the opportunity to enhance and deepen your learning as well as earn credit for field work, service, and research while studying abroad—at least one semester abroad is required for this program. As a Global Studies student, you’ll develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, research abilities, and language proficiency to address any issue.
