What is Lighting Design?

Lighting Design is a concentration within Theatre. Helping to set the mood and more on stage, lighting designers are responsible for the planning and execution of how light is used in theatre productions. As a Lighting Design student, you’ll benefit from a genuine mentorship that combines classroom lectures and training alongside many hours of actual hands-on practical opportunities. Your experiential learning will include working with the latest technology in lighting systems and fixtures on shows of all kinds and in our many different venues. You can apply directly into this concentration, although you must submit a portfolio before being accepted.
