What is Sound Design & Technology?

A concentration within Theatre, Sound Design and Technology prepares students for professional roles in sound design. As a Sound Design and Technology student, you’ll gain current knowledge of sound design, equipment standards, and trends, as well as the technical skills to troubleshoot, solve problems, create, and collaborate with other designers. You’ll also gain hands-on experience working as a sound designer and engineer on productions in theatre, musical theatre, opera, and dance. You can apply directly into this concentration, although you must submit a portfolio before being accepted.
