What is French?

This major encompasses the study of the French language, as well as literary interpretation, critical theory, civilization, cinema, Francophone literature, theoretical and applied linguistics, and computer-assisted teaching. A well-designed series of courses in the French language will help you attain fluency in French, as well as pursue studies in language, literature, culture, film, and linguistics. You can choose from two concentrations: French Studies and French Commercial Studies. A Teacher Education option is also available for students looking to teach French.
