What is Secondary Education: English ?

Our Secondary Education minor is a component of the teaching option within English. This minor fulfills state requirements to teach English in grades 9 through 12. As a Secondary Education student, you will learn how to plan lessons. Our program will teach you how to assess the strengths and weaknesses of your students. You'll practice strategies on how to help students overcome specific learning challenges. If you’re interested in this program, you’ll apply to the English major. Once you’ve completed most of your major requirements, you’ll apply into the Secondary Education minor. This is usually by the end of your sophomore year.
